We’re on a roll, and delighted to welcome another third sector organisation into the Fair Chance fold as an Early Adopter.
Onwards & Upwards are a recent new arrival to the prison industry sector – they train people preparing for release from prison to repair and recycle bicycles and then get them a job in one of their retail outlets in London and the South East.
Managing Director Will Evans says: “All our conversations tell us that people re-offend because they cannot find a job, let alone a career. We founded Onwards & Upwards to create jobs in sustainable social ventures that are small, beautiful and loud, and that have the potential to create waves of change in targeted sectors. But we need all employers on this journey: all managers and HR Directors, in everything from family-run businesses to corporate behemoths.
“We can shine a light on the talent, and the FCBA will make sure the right people are looking, with the charter in place, to provide the expertise and guidance to amplify the impact. FCBA is a part of the puzzle that is well overdue.”
XO Bikes is Onwards & Upwards’ first commercial venture, but they have exciting expansion plans and we can’t wait to work with them as they progress on their Fair Chance journey.
