It’s been a busy few months at FCBA.
We’re about to partner with Re-Generate, Wincanton and Severn Trent Water as part of the West Midlands Employment Alliance pilot, thanks to the efforts of Re-Generate’s Director, Harry Brown.
We’re in early discussions with the Department for Work and Pensions to explore how to ensure that our employers are getting their jobs put in front of Fair Chance candidates through Job Centres and other related processes.
We’re also exploring, across the recruitment sector, the best ways to platform the benefits of hiring and progressing Fair Chance candidates directly to employers and their Human Resources / Talent Acquisition leaders.
More widely, we’re collaborating with voluntary sector organisations to complement the work with prisons and prison-leavers. For example, we recently brought the national criminal justice infrastructure charity, Clinks, on board as a key strategic partner.
Their CEO, Anne Fox, told us: “We’re delighted to partner with FCBA to highlight the need for change and provide information and support on the ways employers can recruit and employ people with criminal records. Clinks’ members have a lot of expertise in supporting Fair Chance candidates into work or a career. This partnership brings that expertise together with employers who choose to ‘sign the pledge’ as Alliance members. Removing the barriers to employment for talented people with criminal records needs to be everybody’s business and this is a great way to do that together.”
